Gossip Girl: Fashion Recap 2×01

23 Οκτ.

Hey guys! I have some great news for you! After a big absence from the blog I am coming back with a new season of Fashion Recaps from Gossip Girl and a lot more to come. New season and new faces will come to the amazing life of the Upper East Siders. For me, this season is a great one for Blair’s hair and generally for the characters as they mature in fashion and age (more in fashion though). I am so thrilled to do this again and you can tell by the ammount of screencaps I’ve made for you… Συνέχεια

Warm this winter

17 Σεπτ.

Hello, there. Are any of my readers left? Sorry I haven’t been updating lately, but I am still adjusting to this new life and I need to find some schedule between University, free time and blogger time. So, today I had a visit to IKEA. Yeah, typical Swedish of me. Of course it was crowded with people and everyone was having a «fika» (swedish traditional coffee break) every now and then. I saw so many pretty things which I’m going to buy later this year.

Anyways, the weather is getting colder here, but not as cold as I would like. Can you believe this? Me, a girl from a hot country complaining about the weather being too warm. But, I am longing for cold weather so I can wear all the knitted and woolen clothes I’ve bought here. Oh, and my weather boots. Also, some very comfy homewear and pyjamas. Love the new campaing of Oysho. And If you don’t know yet, they have installed an online shop…so go ahead and buy some nice vintage inspired lingerie and some warm cardigans for this winter.

On Foreign Grounds

1 Σεπτ.

That’s right people! I have officially moved to a foreign country way up north. That country is…Sweden and the city…Stockholm (or Stckhlm as I like to write it). It is a rather small city considering it’s the capital. But I’ve had noticed from my previous trip here that it is sparsely habitated. It means that there are big areas of green and forests, but not a lot of houses (outside the centre of Stockholm).

I’ve been here for two weeks, but I haven’t done much stuff since I had to do some Swedish courses, register at the University and other important things. But I’ve had the time to go around and visit a few places. So… here are a few things I have to show you.

Beautiful Scandinavian houses

The ones we dream about, with little attics and a big garden? In the area that I live there are sooo many. Each one has its own beauty.

Gamla Stan (Old Town)

It’s filled with tourists every day! It’s not very big, but it is full of beautiful old buildings. You shouldn’t try to eat or buy anything here though. It’s double the price. Walk a bit further and you get to the centre of Stockholm (Sergels Torg).

Candy Shop

In this candy shop you get to see how they make the candy. If you have a sweet tooth then this is the place to go. Below you can see a chocolate fudge candy that was offered to me.

Beautiful Bridges

Stockholm is almost like a big island. And all around there is water. Love it!

Sunday Book Sale

Drottninggatan is filled with people selling old and used books on Sunday. A must if you are a collector or a book-worm.

Akademibokhandeln

The best place to find books in English and with a good variety/price. Got one myself! And then sat down for an espresso at the Espresso House.

Sergels Torg

Where a lot of people get off from the Tunnelbana (metro) and gather around. Not my favourite place. It’s a good option for shopping though, because you can find a lot of shops wherever you look.

American Cookies

I’ve noticed that the Swedes love everything American. This stand here has a huge variety of muffins and cupcakes and cookies and so on… Haven’t tasted anything yet, but will soon.

T.G.I. Friday’s

Had to eat here on Sunday. I was so hungry and this was the nearest place to eat. I really enjoyed my quesadillas. Yum!

Montis Gelateria

This is the best (so far) italian ice cream you can find in Stockholm. And it offers a lot of flavors. Here I am tasting blueberry. It was so good!

Swedish Sweets

Swedish love their sweets! And they are very good at it! Try one of their traditional sweets and you won’t regret it!

Random photo

There was like a team-marathon (I don’t know what it’s called) at the Gamla Stan the other day. Teams of four or two people tied to each other were running in streets. Pretty cool and scary… one athlete almost knocked me over.

That’s all the experiences I can share so far. You will probably get a lot more from my life in Stockholm from now on. So far I really enjoy it! Let’s see what happens when winter comes…

What to Wear this Fall

16 Αυγ.

With half of August gone, summer is almost over and taking notes about what to wear this fall seems appropriate. Normally I don’t take notes about fashion, I go through a fashion magazine, like everything I see but rarely think their suggestions are worth including into my personal style. But, this fashion editorial from Women’s Health magazine (yes, a fitness magazine, not fashion) made me excited about fall. The pieces chosen and presented are easy to find and most importantly…super stylish!

The Cape

I already own a cape in a grey-brown knit from Massimo Dutti, which I adore. Capes are very easy to wear and take off and when they are knitted they are so comfortable. I suggest you choose a color that is versatile and depending on your style, pick the right fabric. Knit for casual and wool for a formal appearance.

The Maxi Skirt

The skirt the model is wearing here looks very sexy…on her. I’m not sure if it would look the same on me (I am only 1,60m tall). But I do believe that the sexy cut on the side would make any woman look more feminine and the addition of those over-the-knee boots adds a bit of edge on the look.

The Lace DressThis is a must! Preferably in black, or if you’re bold and confident in white. This type of dress has a bit of vintage and romantic air to it and makes you look sexy without showing too much skin. Plus, who doesn’t love lace?

The Wide-Leg PantA wide-leg pant looks great on slim figures and definately on tall women. So, if you’re either don’t hesitate on trying this look. Now, we normal height women could flaunt this pant as well, but don’t forget to wear a pair of really high heels to give the illusion of higher legs.

The Leopard Cardigan

Personally I am not a big fan of animal print. It all depends on the quality of the fabric, the print itself and the size of the garment. If it comes in a size as small as a cardigan, I could wear it easily. I also hear that animal printed heels exist…

The Luxe ParkaI will need a lot of parkas this fall/winter as I am moving to Stockholm in a few days. But who says that we have to look out of fashion during cold weather? The furry hood is not only great for protecting your ears and neck from cold, it also does miracles on your style. A must!!!

Something preppy this way comes…

13 Αυγ.

…and it’s Franklin and Marshall brand new autumn/winter campaign. I must admit I am in love! Like everytime I see autumn campaigns, full of warm jackets and comfy sweaters. Well, it’s not my fault I prefer colder climates, sitting on a comfortable sofa in a small cafe, enjoying some hot chocolate while outside it’s raining OR even better… snowing. Plus, I was always a fan of preppy sweaters and plaid button-up shirts. I prefer casual wear to formal anytime of the day! And Franklin and Marshall have convinced me that I need to buy a few of their clothes this autumn/winter.
